About the Farm

We are a plantation based on Principe Island. We conserve over 1000 hectares of secondary forest. We are busy setting up a cacao out grower program. Our aim is to preserve the Principe Biosphere Reserve. Certified cacao production can be used as a tool for sustainable land use and economic development of the farmers.

We are excited to have Bird Friendly Certification because it is the industry gold standard in biodiversity certifications. We aim to encourage all producers on Principe Island to become certified and join our out-grower program. The Bird Friendly Certification allows us to pay premium prices for cacao and is in effect a payment to farmers for ecosystem services.

Featured Bird

The Príncipe thrush (Turdus xanthorhynchus) is a species of bird in the family Turdidae. It is endemic to Príncipe
