Special Event Volunteer, Zoo Uncorked
Description
Friends of the National Zoo is seeking volunteers for Zoo Uncorked on Thursday, Sept. 12, 2019. Zoo Uncorked is the Smithsonian's National Zoo's wine-tasting event, featuring vintners, food trucks and entertainment. Ticket sales from the event benefit conservation, research and education programs at the Smithsonian's National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute.
This is an adult-only event. No children are permitted into the event areas.
Date: Thursday, Sept. 12
Time: Volunteer check-in opens at 4:30 p.m. Volunteer shifts are from 5:30-9:15 p.m.
Volunteer Roles: Volunteers will be assigned a role at check-in that may include (but is not limited to) helping with registration, greeting guests at the VIP area, manning the prize wheel station and helping to serve guests at the event’s soda and water stations.
Application Requirements
Staff and volunteers are prohibited from consuming alcohol at this event and may not visit booths to sample food. This policy is consistent with the product sampling policy for all FONZ fundraising events.
Dinner will be provided.*
*A vegetarian option will be available but we will not be able to accommodate other dietary restrictions.
