Bye Bye, Bao Bao

Join the Smithsonian's National Zoo for a series of online and on-site celebratory events to bid a fond farewell to giant panda Bao Bao before she begins the next chapter of her life in China.

VISITORS: By entering the premises you consent to be photographed, filmed and/or otherwise recorded for any use and waive all rights you may have to any claims in connection to these events.

As part of the Smithsonian's National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute's cooperative breeding program with the China Wildlife Conservation Association, all cubs born at the Zoo move to China before turning 4 years old to breed with other pandas, helping to keep the population genetically diverse.
