Conservation Discovery Day

Mark your calendars for Conservation Discovery Day on Oct.3, 2020. Take a look at last year's highlights below, and check back soon for 2020 event details and shuttle pass information.

Calling all middle, high school and college students: Consider a career in science, wildlife biology, animal care and sustainability! Conservation Discovery Day at the Smithsonian’s Conservation Biology Institute in Front Royal, Virginia, includes hands-on activities, research demonstrations and career panel discussions with conservation biologists, field ecologists, research scientists, veterinarians and animal keepers.

It’s the one day a year that part of SCBI is open to the public, so don’t miss your chance to learn how you can join the conservation ranks and make a difference for wildlife worldwide!

Please note: This year, there will be no parking on the SCBI campus. Shuttles will take guests from Skyline High School to SCBI for $8 per person. SCBI is large and hilly, so appropriate attire for outdoor activities and comfortable walking shoes are recommended. This event will be held rain or shine.
