Ana Claudia Griffin, M.P.S.

Biography

Ana Claudia Griffin is a communications specialist at the Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute’s Center for Conservation and Sustainability. She is passionate about creating communication best practices and building relationships among stakeholders. Griffin strives to promote conservation and sustainability by developing communications plans, implementing strategies, writing reports and fact sheets, and leading workshops on communications and branding.

Griffin plans international webinars, produces annual reports, monitors media coverage, identifies trends, develops proposals and manages internal communication for the Center for Conservation and Sustainability. Further, she guides conservation communication and strategic planning for Paraguay ITAIPU Binacional, a hydroelectric power company that collaborates with CCS on biodiversity conservation.

Griffin received a bachelor’s degree in law from Universidad de Piura in Peru in 2009, and a Bachelor of Arts with a focus in communications from University of Maryland-College Park in 2014. In 2019, Griffin earned a master’s in professional studies with a focus on public relations from The George Washington University. Griffin is passionate about public relations and communicating clear messages to diverse audiences. She has worked in the fields of communications, social justice and community engagement in several educational settings and with nonprofits in the metropolitan Washington, D.C., area for more than 7 years.
